BNP resumes organizational activities after Covid-break

After a prolonged suspension caused by the coronavirus epidemic, the BNP resumed its organisational activities on Sunday.

The party issued a press release urging its leaders and activists to organize activities throughout the country, while maintaining social distancing from the public and following health safety rules.

In preparation for the next general elections, the BNP policymakers decided to meet with central leaders of the party.

A senior BNP leader said that the Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir would host three meetings with the Executive Committee leaders and other associate bodies, from Tuesday to Thursday.

According to Syed Emran Saleh Prince, organizing secretary, the decision was made at Saturday's latest meeting of party's Standing Committee members.

Tarique Rahman, acting chairman, will join the meetings that begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Gulshan office of the BNP chairperson.


On Tuesday, the BNP policymakers will sit first with vice chairsmen and members of the chairperson's advisory board.

They will meet with senior joint secretaries general and secretaries general of organizing secretaries and assistant organizing secaries the next day.

Later, policymakers from the BNP will meet with members of the Executive Committee as well as district-level leaders.
