BNP resumes organizational activities after Covid-break

After a prolonged suspension caused by the coronavirus epidemic, the BNP resumed its organisational activities on Sunday. The party issued a press release urging its leaders and activists to organize activities throughout the country, while maintaining social distancing from the public and following health safety rules. In preparation for the next general elections, the BNP policymakers decided to meet with central leaders of the party. Police submits charge-sheet against Nasir, Omi in Pori Moni case

In a Pori Moni case, which brought charges of rape, and attempted murder against her, police have filed a charge sheet against three individuals, including Nasir U Mahmood, a businessman, and Tuhin Siddique Omie, an associate. Shah Shahidul Alam is the other accused in this charge-sheet. Inspector Md Kamal Hossain from Savar police station was the investigating officer and submitted the charges against the accused to the Dhaka Chief Judcial Magistrate's court on Monday. Pori Moni posted a verified status to her Facebook page asking for justice from Sheikh Hasina. It claimed that six people tried to rape and murder her at the Uttara Boating Club in June 9. Pori Moni filed a complaint of sexual assault against six persons, including Omi and Nasir, on June 14th with Savar Model police station.
